Meet Nate DeMaria

Nate DeMaria is a different type of violinist. Armed with the same classical technique as the symphony players, he easily pivots between fiddle styles improvising in Bluegrass, Jazz, Country, Blues, Ragtime, Rock, and Mountain Music. Showing this ability early on, he founded the Dave Matthews Tribute Band in 2004 and toured nationally for the rest of the decade at venues like the Hollywood House of Blues, the Illinois State Fair, and The 40 Watt. Nate currently performs Traditional Bluegrass with Wilson and Cross, and Jazz with The Appalachian String Band.

Nate is a certified Suzuki Teacher, with over 20 years of teaching experience. His business Scenic City Strings offers students the ability to learn technique through classical music, fiddle music, or a combination. Nate is a professional transcriber, offering students the ability to play their favorite melodies. He studied Classical Violin at the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory with Dr. Julian Ross, and Music Education at SUNY Potsdam College, graduating with a B.A. in Music from SUNY Potsdam College (2005).
